I was very pleased with your article by Doug Childers about Veterans Hospitals.  My father, a WWII veteran, was seen at the VAMC in Salem, VA, for more than 30 years.  The care he received there was exceptional.  Virginia Gilleland, NP, had seen him for checkups and medication needs. 

I was there with my dad and could see first hand how the VA worked to care for all the veterans who had a need.  The facility was immaculate and well cared for, and the staff in all areas were very caring and pleasant.  The veterans they serve are very blessed to have such a great facility.  (Thanks too for the great pictures.)
