Barrel racing and rodeo have been my passions my whole life. It’s exciting to hear the crowd roar and scream for
you and your horse as you round the
barrels. I like barrels the most because
a 15-second race is a huge adrenalin
rush; and when you do well, it feels
as though you are on top of a
mountain.
For me it’s a big stress relief, to
work in harmony with a horse. They
are very rewarding and passionate.
I just love them and racing.
Foxy is a young horse in training; Journey is
a champion, at 19 still running barrels and
loving it. He has traveled up and down the
Eastern Shore, won saddles, buckles and lots
of money. He is a Virginia State Barrel Racing
Association state champion and a national
and world qualifier.
