I received the summer, (2007) issue of the Nursing In Virginia magazine and I think that it is, “wonderful.” I am an older Registered Nurse that has been out of nursing for a while now due to an injury/surgery. And while I love reading about the new graduates I would like to find out if in the near future you would feature articles on refresher courses for nurses wishing to return to nursing. There are many nurses like myself who have kept their licenses current, but due to the lack of “up-to-date” knowledge and many new procedures they fear taking on positions that they are not prepared for. Everybody’s talking about the nurse shortage. Why isn’t someone recycling or investing in the out of commissioned nurses?

I was born and raised in Blacksburg, VA, and went to nursing school at UVA and then MCV. As an OBGYN Nurse Practitioner in private practice in Blacksburg for 24 years, I am very familiar with the New River Valley and Virginia Tech. I appreciated your feature story about the tragedy at VT on 4/16/07.
I immediately noted that the picture you identified as Burruss Hall on page 20 of your recent magazine is NOT Burruss Hall but is Thorvaldson Hall (as can be read on the sign in front of the building) which is at the University of Saskatchewan, 110 Science Place, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada.
